Well, I FINALLY finished the baby sweater with a hood. I got the pattern off the Internet from TLC Home. It's really cute, but it has two things I've never done, a hood, and a zipper. The hardest thing was putting in the zipper. It's done with a Baby Cable Rib, and I had to consult, Barbara G. Walker, "Treasury of Knitting Patterns" for the stitch pattern. It's different in the online patter I downloaded and followed, since the baby cable is done on Row 2 and not Row 4.
The increases were done on Row 4. Never again will I put a zipper in knitting. It has to match up exactly. Well, at least it's cute and it improves your knitting skills to do something you've never done before. I have a photo of it here. You can find it also on Ravelry.
