Dog Sweater
I'm trying to knit a sweater for my cute little beagle for the winter.
She doesn't fit most of the measurements in other patterns, so I'm designing it myself.
I'm using an acrylic worsted weight yarn in variegated colors so that it will look
interesting. I wrote out the pattern, but before I do anything with it, I'll knit it
up first, to see if the pattern works out. I may have to modify the written pattern.
It is based on her neck, chest and length measurements. It will be fun to see
how it comes out and looks on her. I'll post more about this later, and possible
her photo in it, if it works out.

Tonight's Guild Meeting
Tonight's meeting is about Mitered Squares and Modular Knitting.
I LOVE that kind of knitting. It's so elegant, but not hard to do.
There's a scarf in Knits from a Painter's Palette that uses Koigu
yarn. I bought some of it at Stitches this past year. The yarn is
gorgeous, but needs to be skeined. Maybe I can at least start this
scarf, or get some ideas for it. I am excited about this meeting.
Baby Outift
My friend in the UK, whom I've known for over 50 years, we went to
school together, loved the baby outfit I sent. I'm waiting for her
daughter to use it and send me a photo of her baby wearing it. That
would be a thrill to see it worn!

I am currently working on my version of the 5 Hour Baby Sweater ( boy is that a joke!). It's for
a friend in the UK whose daughter is having a baby. I designed and re-wrote the pattern way back in 1978 for my own two girls. I call it "Jiffy Baby Set". There's a hat and booties to go with it. They wore it when they were babies. I make it in two colors. It's fun to make, but there's no way you can do it in 5 hours. I think that name is symbolic, rather than literal. It goes quickly because it's done on big needles 10.5's, but it also takes a while to make it nicely finished and the ends all neatly woven in. I finish the bottom of the sweater with a picot edge instead of a hem.

CMKG Meeting-February 18th
The Guild meeting is about charity knitting. We have some interesting charity
projects coming up. One is Project Linus blankets and the other is the Snuggles
Project, sponsored by Hugs for Homeless Animals. As usual, we are working on
preemie hats, and any other ongoing or one time charity projects you can think of.
Just bring it to the meeting. See you there.

CentraL Maryland Knitting Guild Meeting Jan.21
Hi Everyone,
We had our January meeting last night. Paid dues, chose officers, I was elected
President for this year, and we had our semi-annual yarn swap.
